# Referral overview

### **Overview about referral**

Referral marketing, on the other hand, is when a business’s existing customers personally promote the advertiser to new users to earn rewards.

Referral marketing revolves around the shared relationship between your customers, their friends or associates and your brand. Current customers personally promote your brand to new users to earn rewards, ideally for both themselves and their friends.

**How Does Referral Marketing Work?**

First, customers or visitors who like your product or service refer people to your website, app, or a landing page. In return, there’s a reward. This reward comes in two forms:

* **Altruistic emotions**
* **Rewards in the form of discounts, credits and upgrades.**

Altruism is the cornerstone of any referral program.

Why?

Because it feels good to help out a friend. When happy customers are incentivized to invite people along for the ride, between 2-3 new customers are created. Research shows users aren’t as inclined to send invites just to gain an upgrade or an account credit - but offering double-side incentives for both the sender *and* receiver is incredibly encouraging.

You can use consumers' the innate desire to share good ideas within social networks against rewards. This motivates more strongly because giving brings more joy than receiving.

### **How referral works in Jaka app?**

3\. Customer 2 will purchase the products on your store and use the discount code at checkout. If the order is created, the referrer who shared the discount code will receive a discount too.

Email notification will sent with discount code.

* set discount for referrer here

On the **Setting** window pops up, you can edit the coupon of the Referral with a **Percentage** or a **Fixed** **Amount** and other conditions of the coupon below:

* This discount requires a minimum order subtotal: the minimum amount of the order of Referral friend so the Referral will get a coupon as a reward from the Merchant
* The reward will expire in: the valid day's number from the day the reward is sent so that Referral can use it

Also, you also can customize the front-end interface of the Referral contains **button** and **popup** after clicking the button.
